Waterlines - is an open project that’s common themes mirror my portrait work on land. My exploration of underwater photography began the summer of 2023. This new way of seeing is thrilling for me. I feel comfortable underwater and I enjoy feeling like a beginner again. This collection of images includes a fraction of what I created in 2023, 2024, and summer of 2025. Every time I take photos under water it feels like a new experience because it is a seasonal practice at a different location, with a different model. Holding my Canon 5D in a rubber bag makes me buoyant, I have to control my breathing exhaling to gradually drop to a level that allows me to line up with my subject. It’s a great way to exercise and create art simultaneously!

I have used the Iphone, Fugi XP, Canon 5D Mark III, and the Canon EOS - 1V 35 mm Film Camera. They have all created impressive results.
